ULURU (Collimation No. 9)

Uluru is in Australia's Northern Territory. For 10,000 years, the Aboriginal people believed Uluru was inhabited by the spirits of their ancestors. In the 1870s, Europeans audaciously named the great sandstone outcropping 'Ayer's Rock' for a knighted white man.

From deep inside Uluru, my painting looks out and sees the gathering spirits of the Aṉangu against the sky.

Acrylic on canvas. Painting wraps onto sides; no frame is needed.
